Grace Ndeezi is a professor of Pediatrics and Child Health at Makerere University College of Health Sciences with more than 20 years of experience in research, clinical pediatrics and teaching. She is a chairperson medical advisory board committee at haemophilia foundation of Uganda. She is a practicing clinician at Mulago National Referral Hospital, which is a teaching hospital for Makerere University. She has authored more than 120 publications in peer reviewed journals, supervised more than 40 Masters students and four PhD students to completion. In the past she has been involved in multi-county trainings for child health programs such as IMCI and other Ministry of Health programs which enabled her obtain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by health systems in low income counties. She has had the opportunity to work with partners/ collaborators from high income countries such as the University of Bergen, Montpellier, Copenhagen, Tufts University and Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Although most of these collaborations were research and capacity building grants they enabled her obtain an in-depth understanding of the disparities between low and high income countries. She has been a deputy to the editor in Chief of African Health Sciences and currently chairs the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) Research and Ethics Committee. She is a fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS) where she chairs the Finance and Administration Committee. She is a member of Makerere University senate and sits on several committees at the College of Health Sciences.

Dr Phillip Kasirye Gitta is a Consultant Paediatrician and Hematologist at Mulago National referral and teaching Hospital, the oldest and largest public health facility in Uganda. He wields over 15 years clinical experience and heads the hospitals sickle cell clinic where close to 30000 patients have been registered since its inception in 1968 and a yearly active population of over 5000 patients. Dr Kasirye also serves as the Assistant Clinical Head in charge of hematology at the hospital. He is a head of capacity building and research at hemophilia foundation of Uganda. medical committee. Other responsibilities include; participation in several community education campaigns for both hemophilia and Sickle cell disease, as well as training of health professionals in those and other aspects across the country. He is also an honorary Lecturer in the department of Paediatrics at the Makerere University college of health sciences training, supervising and mentoring medical students, interns, postgraduate students and fellows of hematology/oncology He is also keenly interested in clinical research and has been an active participant in that filed.

Deogratias is a Consultant Pediatrician, Honorary Lecturer and PhD candidate in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Mulago Hospital/ Makerere University Kampala. My additional responsibility is the Assistant Clinical head in the Directorate, Coordinator MMED Haematology Oncology Course and Coordinator MBCHB V course. He has had 10 years experience in neonatal and child health (5 years up-country and 5 years in an urban setting). He is an ETAT+ trainer (Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment in the first 24 hrs) and has participated in the introduction of ETAT+ in Uganda with the support of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Makerere University/Ministry of Health, Uganda and in partnership with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK.. Over the last 5 years I have been involved in care , treatment and research in children with sickle cell disease. I have recently completed a sub-speciality training in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology in Uganda Cancer Institute and Mulago National Referral Hospital Kampala. My PhD in neurology is on stroke in children with sickle cell anaemia. The programme is part of the larger MEPI-Neuro-linked NIH support for developing leaders in neurology in Uganda. Dr. Peter Wasswa is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center. He is currently the Medical Director for the Global HOPE Program in Malawi. His special interest is in childhood hematological cancer, particularly in developing countries. Having trained in Africa and Europe, Dr. Wasswa translates clinical best practices into actions that have a positive impact on children with cancer and blood disorders in Malawi. Additionally, he is very familiar with the challenges of adapting these best practices to the needs and realities of low-income settings. Dr. Wasswa received his medical degree from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. He completed his residency in pediatrics and his residency in internal medicine from the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health and the Royal College of Physicians, respectively. His Fellowship in Hematology was completed at the Royal College of Pathologists.

Dr. Susan Nabadda Ndidde is a prominent figure in public health and laboratory medicine in Uganda. ​She serves as the Executive Director/Commissioner for the National Health Laboratory and Diagnostics Services (NHLDS) at the Ministry of Health, Uganda. ​She is a Medical Doctor and a Medical Pathologist specializing in Hematology. ​Her work involves advancing laboratory practices, managing infectious diseases (like HIV/AIDS and emerging viral threats), conducting disease surveillance (including Antimicrobial Resistance or AMR), and strengthening laboratory systems in Uganda. ​She was appointed the Interim Chair of the Africa Laboratory Director's Forum (LabDF) in partnership with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). ​She has been recognized for her exceptional contribution and leadership in Uganda's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

Dr. Christine Sekaggya-Wiltshire is an internal medicine physician with a PhD from Makerere University. Her research interests are in drug pharmacokinetics and non-malignant hematology. She is an investigator in pharmacokinetic studies, clinical trials, studies related to drug-drug interaction between anti-tuberculosis drugs, antiretrovirals and other research projects related to HIV, tuberculosis and hematological disorders

A dedicated Physiotherapist with over 16 years experience in managing musculoskeletal disorders, neurological disorders in both paediatrics and adult patient care. I have attained a fellowship in Physiotherapy management of Haemophilia and received training in use of Point of care ultrasound. I am also an experienced physiotherapy tutor.
